History
The Duisburger Kettenfabrik und Hammerwerk H. d'Hone GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Duisburg-Neudorf on April 1, 1896. In the following decades, the company produced anchor chains for inland shipping and for the German Navy. In the middle of the 20th century, the first ship anchors were manufactured as forged products. With the advent of welding technology, the production program was expanded to include lifting technology in the early 1960s. Anchors of welded construction were developed in the maritime sector. The first anchors received the rating "anchor with high holding force" after some empirical tests. The D'HONE SPEZIAL anchor with high holding force was one of the first anchors to receive this rating. Its compact design, as well as several further developments in the last decades, make the D'HONE-SPEZIAL one of the most successful marine anchors to date. 04/1896:

Early 60s:
The D'HONE-SPEZIAL anchor was one of the first to be awarded the title of "anchor with high holding power" in history. Its compact design as well as its further development still make the D'HONE-SPEZIAL anchor one of the most successful ship anchors in Europe today.
Beginning 90s:
With the entry of Dr. Volker Domagala in 1990, production capacities were expanded. The upper weight limit of an anchor was increased from 3,000 kgs to initially 8,000 kgs and in a further step to almost 20,000 kgs.
2000s:
Besides the main product, the D'HONE-SPEZIAL, the service around the product is more and more in focus. Our engineering team supports our customers with the creation of 2D and 3D anchor drawings and the design of anchor pockets.
Mid-20th century:
The first ship anchors were manufactured as a forged product in the company's own forge.
Mid 60s:
With the arrival of welding technology, the company's production programme was expanded to include the area of "lifting technology".
The new millennium:
Further developments over the past decades still make the D'HONE-SPEZIAL one of the most successful ship anchors worldwide. From smallest police patrol boats to the largest cruise ships in the world, our customers trust in quality "Made in Germany".
